LDA cost rental questions
Is this the LDA's website?
No. Cost Rental Watch is independent and free. You always apply on the LDA's own site, lda.ie, and we never ask for fees or PPS numbers.
Who can apply for LDA cost rental?
Your household's income after tax must be under €66,000 in Dublin or €59,000 elsewhere, and the rent can't be more than 35% of it. You can't be getting HAP or Rent Supplement, or own a home. All the rules.
How long are LDA applications open?
Usually one to four weeks, sometimes only seven days. There's no waiting list: if you miss a window, you're not in that draw.
Does applying early help?
No. Homes are given out by lottery among eligible applicants after the window closes, so applying on the last day gives the same chance as the first. How the lottery works.
What happens if I'm picked?
The LDA usually gives you 72 hours to upload proof of income and other documents. What to get ready before you apply.
