What we keep about you, why, and for how long.
Who runs this
Cost Rental Watch is responsible for your data. Contact: hello@costrentalwatch.ie.
What we keep
- Your email address.
- Your alert choices: counties, cost rental or homes to buy, and home sizes.
- Your household income after tax, only if you chose to give it.
- If you have Plus: your Stripe customer reference, and the scheme you tell us you were picked for.
- Which schemes we've already emailed you about, so you don't get the same one twice.
We count visits and clicks with PostHog analytics, hosted in the EU. It runs without cookies or browser storage, and IP addresses are discarded, so you can't be followed from one day to the next or across other sites.
We don't use advertising cookies.
Fonts are served from this site, not Google.
Why we keep it
Only to send the alerts you asked for. Your income, if you give it, is used to skip rentals you couldn't qualify for. We never sell or share your details, and we never send marketing.
The legal basis is your consent, which you give by confirming your email. You can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing.
How long we keep it
- If you don't confirm your email within 7 days, we delete it.
- When you unsubscribe, we delete your email, your choices and your alert history straight away.
Who handles it for us
The site, database and emails run on Cloudflare. The sign-up form's spam check uses Cloudflare Turnstile. Plus payments are handled by Stripe, which keeps your card details; we never see them.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at the contact above, or complain to the Data Protection Commission.
