If Dublin rents are out of reach, the counties around it have had a steady run of cost rental schemes. Since 2023, Cost Rental Watch has tracked 19 developments across Meath, Kildare and Wicklow. The income limit in all three is €59,000 a year after tax, lower than Dublin's €66,000.
